Girl, 17, in critical condition after being hit by car

A 17-year-old girl remained in critical condition at The Queen's Medical Center Saturday after being hit by a car on Oneawa Street in Kailua.Police said the girl, who is from Kailua, was in a crosswalk, crossing Oneawa near Olomana Street at about 7:45 p.m. Friday when she was struck by a silver, 2004 Chevy four-door.
The 37-year-old Kailua man who was driving the car was not drinking or speeding, police said. He was wearing a seat belt and driving on dry, well-lit streets.
