Knott's adult ticket price lowered

Here are discounts, deals, and ideas for travel in the Islands, around the Pacific and Asia, on the West Coast and in Las Vegas:

KNOTT'S BERRY FARM: California's Knott's Berry Farm has reduced its adult ticket price to $39.95 from $45. Tickets for children ages 3 to 11 and those 62 and older remain $14.95. By comparison, adult ticket prices for Disneyland in Anaheim cost $59, while Universal Studios Hollywood charges $56. A comparable ticket at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia costs $59.99. BIG ISLAND SPECIAL: The Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa has added a room upgrade option to its Sunrise to Sunset Package. CHANNEL LANDSCAPES: Pack the easel box and head to Channel Islands National Park for six days of plein-air painting July 16-21. The 55-foot, six-passenger Enchanted Lady sails from Long Beach to remote Santa Cruz Island. On the island, artists visit several areas offering varied perspectives and creative painting and also explore ancient Chumash Indian sites, historic ranches, empty beaches and hike quiet canyons. The group sleeps and eats aboard the boat. Cost: $1,050 per person, double occupancy ($525 single surcharge), includes berth accommodations and meals. ATA HILO TO OAKLAND: Beginning April 27, ATA Airlines will fly daily nonstop from Oakland to Hilo. The ATA flight will depart Hilo at 8:20 a.m. arriving in Oakland at 4:15 p.m. The return flight departs Oakland at 7:35 p.m. daily and lands in Hilo at 9:50 p.m. Reservations: www.ata.com.

VIVA VEGAS MONORAIL: The Las Vegas Monorail Co. and Vegas.com offer a free one-way monorail ticket for each booking made through the Vegas.com, LasVegas.com or Espanol.Vegas.com Web sites. The sites offer information, tickets and reservations for shows, hotels, tours and other attractions. The offer will last for six months.

Vegas.com kiosks will be in each monorail station. Once you book an excursion on the Web site, give your name at the kiosk to get the free ride.
