  • Marriott International Inc. has named new general managers at four Marriott resorts in Hawai'i: Chris Tatum, at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort; STEVE GLEN, at the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa at Ko Olina, and BILL COUNTRYMAN, at the Kaua'i Marriott Resort and Beach Club. The three new general managers have a combined total of 84 years of hospitality industry experience.

  • STELLA KIMURA, has been named chief financial officer at Communications Pacific. Kimura is past director of finance at Hilton Hawaiian Village, and is a former Outrigger Hotels & Resorts controller. Also, BARBARA HECKATHORN, cindy McMillan and JACKIE SMYTHE have been promoted to senior vice president, and HOWARD DANIEL and B.J. WHITMAN have been named vice president at the public relations, advertising, marketing and communications company.

  • Charlene Lo Chan has been named senior vice president and chief operating officer for Bright Light Marketing Group. She most recently served as director of Gap International Production, based in San Francisco and worked previously with Levi Strauss & Co.

  • BONNIE E. FREITAS, former vice president of human resources for Castle & Cooke Homes Hawai'i, has joined the Hawai'i Employers Council as vice president and director of human resource services. The council provides professional services to management of member firms in the areas of human resources, labor relations, employment law, research and business education programs.

  • KIRK SMITH has been named vice president of marketing and sales for Hawaiian Airlines. He will oversee Hawaiian's sales efforts, while continuing to lead its marketing and promotional programs.

  • PETE TWYMAN, has been named senior regional director of finance for Hilton Hawai'i. Responsibilities will include overseeing all financial aspects of Hilton Hawai'i resorts, including Hilton Hawaiian Village, Hilton Waikoloa Village and the Doubletree Alana Hotel-Waikiki.

  • Amy Carpenter, former associate/spa reservations agent at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, has been promoted to assistant spa manager for the resort's Spa Moana. She was previously with the Mandara Spa in Hilton Hawaiian Village on O'ahu.
