Expected showers put state under flood watch

A flash flood watch is in effect for all islands through Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service said today.Kevin Kodama, a hydrologist for the weather service, said a developing storm system that is moving in from the southwest is expected to start dumping heavy showers across the state by tomorrow.
"It looks like it will come through with the most intense form tomorrow and tomorrow night," Kodama said.
Though the stormy weather is exected to peak tomorrow and Thursday, Kodama said conditions should remain somewhat unstable into the weekend.
The extended forecast calls for trade winds returning by the middle of next week, he said.
"It might be wet trades, which is better than this deep instability, this deep convection of the last four weeks," Kodama said.
