Flash flood warning issued for Kaua'i

Advertiser Staff

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Kaua'i until 5:15 p.m.

At 2:08 p.m., the rain gage at Kapahi showed heavy rain falling at more than 3 inches per hour near Kapa'a. The area of heavy rain was nearly stationary, the weather service said.

Other locations in the warning include but are not limited to Kilauea, Kapa'a, Moloa'a and Anahola.

This flash flood warning replaces the flood advisory that was in effect for Kaua'i.

The warning may need to be extended beyond 5:15 p.m. flash flooding conditions persist.
