Police arrested a 25-year-old Pearl City man yesterday after he allegedly attacked two police officers who were responding to a drug overdose call.

Police arrived at a home on Ho'ohiki Place about 6:20 p.m. and found that the person for whom help was sought had become belligerent. Police said the man began to push the police officers and was arrested on suspicion of harassment.

While being transported to a police station, the man kicked one of the officers and attempted to hit him in the face, causing a rip to the officers shirt. Police then subdued the man and arrested him on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.

Woman suspected of using stolen credit card

Police arrested a 47-year-old woman at a Fort Street Mall store yesterday morning after she allegedly tried to use a stolen credit card to buy $698.99 worth of goods from the store.

The store merchant told police the woman handed over the credit card about 7:30 a.m. The merchant said he became suspicious and called the account holder, who said the woman lived in the same household but is not related to him. The cardholder told police he did not give permission to the woman to use his card or to disrupt his bank account.

Police arrested the woman, who lives in the 1100-block of North King Street, on suspicion of fraudulent use of a credit card.

Woman arrested driving stolen car

Police arrested a 40-year-old Liliha woman in Wahiawa yesterday after a police sergeant reported seeing her trying to drive away in a stolen car.

Police said the sergeant was on routine patrol when he saw a car parked in an area known for a high number of drug transactions. A check of the license plates showed the car had been reported stolen. The sergeant was waiting for other police officers to arrive to begin the recovery process when he saw the woman get into the car and start to drive away.

The sergeant ordered the woman to pull over near the corner of Kukui Street and Kilani Avenue and arrested her on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.
