'Solid wall of showers' headed for Kaua'i

Advertiser Staff

The National Weather Service Honolulu office said a "solid wall of showers" from the southwest should strike Kaua'i this evening and move eastward across the island chain over the next 24 hours.

Kevin Kodama, hydrologist for the weather service, said as the storm pushes past Kaua'i some time tonight it will probably affect O'ahu, but the island will most likely feel the brunt of the storm tomorrow.

The storm will eventually work its way to Maui County and the Big Island, Kodama said.

After Friday there should be a break but another round is expected to follow, he said.

"We are on the tail end of the wet season so at some point it's has to end," Kodama said.
