ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
T-shirts with Island theme

Advertiser Staff

Photographer Michelle Tricca, left, may be based in Florida, but the former O'ahu resident's heart is in Hawai'i. She shows the love in her T-shirts sporting artful images — such as "Na Wahine o ke Kai" (a triptych of paddling images), a macro shot of bamboo taken in Manoa and a portrait of a man's sexy six-pack with "Kane" scrawled on the skin. The slim-fit cotton tees (in men's, women's and babies' sizes) come with long ($48) or short ($42) sleeves. Order online at www.mo-ts.com.

HAPPENING

LOOK ALIVE, MAGGOTS!

Get dirty in the 2006 Swamp Romp, which starts at 7 a.m. (sharp!) Saturday, at Marine Corps Base Hawaii at Kane'ohe Bay. Billed as O'ahu's dirtiest foot race, the Marine Corps Community Services and Combat Service Support Group 3's Romp takes the few and the proud (and not-so-proud) across a course of mud, sand, ocean and obstacles. Each entry must consist of a team of six runners; all members of the team must finish together. The entry fee is $120 per team. Registration and payment options are at www.mccshawaii.com. For details, call MCCS Varsity Sports at 254-7590 or MCCS Public Relations at 254-7679.

FINAL WORD

"It's a cup. There's a cup, in the suit, that shows no ... form. That's its whole purpose."
