Severe weather threatening the Big Island
Advertiser Staff
The Big Island is under a heavy threat of severe weather and flooding for the next 24 hours, according to the National Weather Service.Several large thunderstorms are moving toward the Kona coast, said Wes Browning, meteorologist for the weather service.
Over the other islands the atmosphere remains unstable and could cause occasional showers and thunderstorms especially inland, Browning said.
"Tomorrow we'll get a brief break then another significant storm is reloading to the west of us," he said.
Sunday and into next week there's more chance of very unsettled weather, Browning said.
