Trump Tower rises on the Strip

By Anthony Curtis

Donald Trump is visible on the Las Vegas Strip. Trump International Hotel and Tower is rising on land behind the New Frontier. Concrete for the sixth-floor recreational deck took two days to pour, and new floors are scheduled for completion every six days until the 64-story building is topped off around this time next year. The non-casino condo-hotel is slated to open in early 2008. Only 100 of the 1,282 units, which range from 635 to 3,500 square feet and cost from $755,000 to $4.2 million, are still for sale.

MORE-EXPENSIVE CASINO: The cost of Wynn Resorts' Encore project, to be built next door to Wynn Las Vegas, is now $1.74 billion. Previous estimates were in the range of $1.4 billion to $1.6 billion.

LESS-EXPENSIVE TICKETS: Wynn Las Vegas' "Avenue Q" tickets are as low as $50, down from $88. "Le Rêve" is down to $88 for the cheapest tickets (weekdays only), reduced from $99. "Avenue Q" ends its run May 28.

FOR THE RECORD: Alka-Seltzer is teaming up with the Las Vegas Hilton on Tuesday in an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the largest buffet. The 500-item spread will open to the public at 11 a.m. Cost per person is $7.50, and proceeds will be donated to the hunger-relief organization America's Second Harvest.
