One killed in three-vehicle crash on Big Island

One person was killed and two others were injured during a three-vehicle collision this morning in the Kailua-Kona area of the Big Island.Acting Capt. Randall Chun, of the Kailua Fire Station, said the crash occurred 4:45 a.m. on Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway about a quarter-mile south of Henry Street.
Chun said one of the vehicles was fully engulfed by fire when rescue workers arrived at the scene. Three people were removed from the wrecked vehicles and were taken to Kona Community Hospital where one of the victims was declared dead on arrival.
