Advertiser Staff

Justin Costi and Darrell Fisherbaugh combined on a one-hitter and Hawai'i beat UC Santa Barbara, 3-0, to complete a doubleheader sweep Monday before 808 at Les Murakami Stadium.

Costi (4-0) went 6 1/3 innings, allowing one hit and three walks with a career-high 10 strikeouts. Fisherbaugh got the last two outs for his fifth save for UH (22-8)

Clayton Edwards (1-4) was charged with run, nine hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings for the Gauchos (9-12).

The Rainbows broke the scoreless deadlock with three in the fifth. Nathan Young singled off the pitcher's glove, took second on Robbie Wilder's sacrifice and scored on Derek DuPree's triple to right. After a 2-0 count, Justin Frash was intentionally walked. Luis Avila followed with a two-run double to right-center; Avila was thrown out trying to stretch his hit into a triple.
