Kahuku coach Livai resigns

Advertiser Staff

Siuaki Livai, head coach of defending state football champion Kahuku High, has resigned, according to a statement from school principal Lisa DeLong.

Livai has been coach of the Red Raiders for 10 seasons, winning four of the past six state championships. He compiled a 102-20 record.

"It's the right time to leave, as a champion," Livai said in the statement. "I've accomplished more than I ever expected. I want to spend more time with my family, my 'Back to the Roots' program, the Samoa Bowl and the Kingdom Bowl."

DeLong said the position would be filled in the next month.
