Maui Downhill off Baldwin Avenue

Maui Downhill, an operator of guided bicycle tours starting atop Haleakala, said it's voluntarily suspended use of Baldwin Avenue because of safety concerns and is urging other operators to do the same.

Richard Goodenough, Maui Downhill president, said the last several miles of the 38-mile bike trip will be swapped for a van tour during which the island's agriculture and history will be highlighted.



Four Seasons among 10 best family resorts

The Four Seasons Resort Lana'i at Manele Bay will be listed among the 10 best family-friendly resorts in the May issue of Child magazine.

Child magazine examined more than 340 U.S. resorts that focus mainly on warm-weather travel to identify the best family-friendly resorts as part of the magazine's special section on family travel. The magazine will be on newsstands nationwide next month.

Child magazine noted several family-oriented amenities at the Four Seasons Resort Lana'i at Manele Bay, including a complimentary kids' camp, toddler beds, free child-proofing and refrigerator, bike and stroller rentals, and free meals for those 4 and under.
