One killed when car plunges over bridge on Big Island

A 29-year-old man was killed early this morning on the Big Island when the Toyota Matrix he was driving plunged off Auwaiakeakua bridge near the five-mile marker on Waikoloa Road and fell 20 feet into a gulch below.The Waikoloa Fire Station received a call for help at 2:17 a.m. and reported being at the scene three minutes later.
County officials said speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
