Advertiser Staff

Police were looking early this morning for three men estimated to be between 17 and 19 years old, one of whom is believed to have stabbed a 29-year-old man in downtown Honolulu.

The man who was stabbed told police he got into an argument with one of the three men at about 12:40 a.m. near the corner of North Kukui Street and Nu'uanu Avenue. The disagreement escalated into a fistfight, during which one of the three men stabbed the older man, police said.

After the stabbing, the three men were last seen running up Nu'uanu Avenue.

The stabbing victim was taken to The Queen's Medical Center and was listed in serious condition upon his arrival, police said.

Woman reports being sexually assaulted in home

Police are investigating a report that a 53-year-old woman was sexually assaulted at her home in Waimanalo yesterday.

Police said the woman's sister reported the incident, which is said to have occurred about sometime prior to 2:30 a.m.

The victim told police she did not know the man who attacked her.

Suspicious vehicle report leads to stolen-car arrest

Two Wai'anae-area men, both 36, were arrested yesterday after police were called to check on a report of a suspicious vehicle.

Police found the two men standing outside of a car fronting 87-801 Apana Road about 8:15 a.m.

An initial check showed the car had not been reported stolen and officers told the two men to leave the area. The two men got in the car, which also had a passenger in the back seat. The driver was reversing the car when officers received word from a police dispatcher that the car had just been reported stolen.

Police ordered the driver to pull over and arrested him on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle. The backseat passenger then told the officers that the other man in the front seat had also been driving the car, so he was arrested as well on the same suspected offense.
