Advertiser Staff

Police arrested a 24-year-old Makaha man yesterday in connection with an incident reported earlier this month by his ex-girlfriend.

The former girlfriend, 19, told police the man approached her car when she stopped near the corner of Moua and Fricke streets on March 16.

She said the boyfriend ripped a necklace from around her neck and threw it on the roadway before reaching into her car and breaking several levers from the steering column.

The former boyfriend disappeared before police arrived on the day of the alleged incident, but when he was stopped for a traffic offense yesterday, a police officer recognized him and had the woman whose car was damaged identify him.

The former boyfriend was then arrested on suspicion of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and second-degree terroristic threatening.

Police were told that two men were fighting and that one combatant may have had a knife and appeared to have stabbed the other. Both men fled before police arrived, but they found a man who matched the description of one of the men involved in the fight.

Police arrested the man on probation revocation and contempt of court warrants.

Man accused of punching girlfriend in face

A 25-year-old Waipahu man was arrested on suspicion of multiple offenses after his girlfriend told police he punched her in the face about 3 p.m. yesterday.

The woman, 25, told police she was arguing with the man, who was standing outside her car, when he punched her in the face, threatened to harm her further and damaged the car.

Police were called to an address on Kipou Street and arrested the boyfriend on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and fourth-degree criminal property damage.

Coworkers' argument escalates into attack

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault yesterday after he allegedly hit a 39-year-old coworker with a metal shaft about 8:15 at a Sumner Street address.

Police were told the two men had been arguing prior to the incident. One of the men was taken to a hospital emergency room where he was treated for unspecified injuries.
