Police ask public to use 911 for emergencies only

The Honolulu Police Department is asking the public to call 911 for emergencies only at this time. The current weather conditions have generated an unusually high number of 911 calls this morning, police said.Call screeners will continue to handle all calls relating to emergencies, including weather-related situations requiring immediate assistance. Non-emergency calls will be asked to call back at a later time.
