MANDEL IN MAY 6 CONCERT

Howie Mandel returns for a night of standup comedy, 7:30 p.m. May 6 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall. Mandel hosts the NBC show "Deal or No Deal" and is a veteran of TV drama ("St. Elsewhere"), animation ("Bobby's World") and comedy specials. He last performed in Honolulu on New Year's Eve 2004.

'MARIJUANA-LOGUES' COMING

Tommy Chong, of Cheech & Chong and smokes and bong fame, will light up the Blaisdell Concert Hall stage when he stars in "The Marijuana-Logues," 7:30 p.m. May 26.

The show, which has been touring the nation, isn't meant to glorify the weed but offers a humorous look at the cannabis culture.

Tickets — $25, $40 and $55 — are available at the Blaisdell box office, Ticketmaster locations and Hawaii's Natural High.

The 'Ohina Short Film Showcase is accepting entries for its Aug. 4-5 event at the Doris Duke Theatre, Honolulu Academy of Arts.
