Lyon Arboretum offers an eight-week docent training class which covers botany, horticulture, plant conservation, Hawaiian natural history and ethnobotany and the arboretum's special collections, 10 a.m.-noon Mondays, at the arboretum grounds in Manoa Valley; free, upon completion, docents will be expected to volunteer as garden tour guides.
