The state Department of Transportation advises O'ahu motorists of the following roadwork projects under way this week:
Wilson Tunnel closures
Likelike Highway's Wilson Tunnel will be closed in the Honolulu-bound direction from tonight through Friday morning, 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for median barrier work. Motorists should anticipate delays, allow for extra travel time and use caution while taking alternate routes.
Lane closures along H-1 Freeway, Airport interchange and Middle Street
Single lane closures will be implemented westbound along the H-1 Freeway on the Dillingham on-ramp, 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. today through Friday, for guardrail and shoulder lane improvements. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and to allow for extra travel time.
Lane closures along Halawa Heights Road
Single lane closures may be implemented along Halawa Heights Road near Camp Smith, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. today through Friday, for roadway resurfacing work.
Lanes may be closed along Halawa Heights Road between Ulune Street and Fernridge Place near Camp Smith for median curb work and roadway widening.
In addition, the right maka- bound lane of the Kahuapaani Overpass will be closed from 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. today through Friday for bridge work.
Puuloa Road improvements project continues
Both shoulder lanes along Puuloa Road from Kamehameha Highway to Salt Lake Boulevard will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. today through Friday for utility work.
Possible lane closures may also occur in various directions at the intersection of Puuloa Road and Salt Lake Boulevard from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. today through Friday for utility line installation.
Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and to allow for extra time or to take an alternate route.
Resurfacing work along Kamehameha Highway
Lane closures will be in place today through Friday along Kamehameha Highway between Waiahole Valley Road and Crouching Lion Inn for resurfacing work. One lane of traffic in either direction will be closed and contra-flowed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Work to resurface the eight-mile stretch of highway is expected to run until June.
Lane closures along Farrington Highway
A lane will be closed westbound near the intersection of Farrington Highway and Old Fort Weaver Road from today through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for erosion control work. Motorists should anticipate delays, allow for extra travel time and use caution while driving through the work area.
Shoulder lanes may be closed in both directions along Farrington Highway between Waianae Intermediate and Kaena Point today through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for sign installation.
H-1 Waimalu widening project lane closures
The right westbound lane of the H-1 Freeway will be closed nightly from the H-1/Moanalua Freeway merge to the Pearl City off-ramp on the following dates: Wednesday and Thursday, May 4, 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. nightly; 10 p.m. Friday to 10:30 a.m. Saturday; and 12:01 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
The closures are needed as part of the H-1 widening project.
Kalanianaole Highway resurfacing project continues
Lanes may be closed in both directions along Kalanianaole Highway between Castle Junction and Kapaa Quarry Road today, 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. for traffic signal installation and pavement striping.
Lane closures along Fort Weaver Road
Lanes may be closed along Fort Weaver Road in the vicinity of Geiger Road from Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for pavement striping. Motorists should anticipate delays, allow for extra travel time and use caution while driving through the work.
Ala Moana Boulevard lane closures, Piikoi Street to Atkinson Drive
ILanes will be closed in both directions along Ala Moana Boulevard between Piikoi Street and Atkinson Drive from Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for traffic signal work.
Lane closures along Pali Highway
Lanes will be closed along Pali Highway Kailua-bound between Waokanaka Street and the Pali Tunnels today through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for pavement repairs, weather permitting.
H-2 town-bound exit to be closed
The exit to the H-2 Freeway town-bound, heading along Meheula Parkway from the Mililani Mauka direction, will be closed Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for expansion joint repairs. Motorists are advised to use caution and to allow for extra travel time while taking the alternate town-bound ramp to the H-2 Freeway via Meheula Parking from the Mililani Town direction.
