UH baseball tops Grambling, 11-2

Associated Press

GRAMBLING La. — Justin Frash had a pair of two-run singles to lead Hawaii over Grambling State, 11-2, on Tuesday.

Frash's first RBI single in the fourth inning gave the Rainbows a 3-1 lead over the Tigers.

His second came in a six-run eighth inning that also saw Rainbows cross the plate on a bases-loaded walk, a hit batter and an error that cost the Tigers two runs.

Marvin Mercer had a solo homer for Grambling State (6-36) in the bottom of the eighth to end the scoring.

Hawaii reliever Dean Turner (1-1) pitched four innings of no-hit ball to get the win. Mikel Hall (0-1) took the loss.
