Owner of janitorial firm indicted

Advertiser Staff

The owner of a Honolulu janitorial services company was indicted this afternoon on charges of theft, racketering and money laundering related to city contracts his company received from March 2000 through March 2005.

Nelson Aguinaldo, president of Diversified Janitorial Services, Inc., said, "I have no comment," when reached by telephone about the indictment.

A bench warrant was ordered for his arrest by Circuit Judge Derrick Chan, with bail set at $100,000. City Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Chris Van Marter said the grand jury charged that Aguinaldo understaffed his city maintenance jobs, underpaid his employees, stole city supplies and sold them to another company and laundered the proceeds.
