The state Department of Transportation advises O'ahu motorists of the following roadwork projects under way this week:

H-1 Waimalu widening project lane closures

  • The right westbound lane of the H-1 Freeway will be closed nightly from the H-1/Moanalua Freeway merge to the Pearl City off-ramp on the following dates: today and tomorow, 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. nightly; 10 p.m. Friday to 10:30 a.m. Saturday; and 12:01 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

    The closures are needed as part of the H-1 widening project.

    Wilson Tunnel closures

  • Likelike Highway's Wilson Tunnel will be closed Honolulu-bound 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. through Friday morning for median barrier work. Motorists should anticipate delays, allow for extra travel time and use caution while taking alternate routes.

    Lane closures along H-1 Freeway, Airport interchange and Middle Street

  • Single lanes will be closed westbound along the H-1 Freeway on the Dillingham on-ramp, 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday, for guardrail and shoulder lane improvements. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and to allow for extra travel time. 

    Lane closures along Halawa Heights Road

    Single lanes may be closed along Halawa Heights Road near Camp Smith, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday, for roadway resurfacing work.

    Lanes may be closed along Halawa Heights Road between Ulune Street and Fernridge Place near Camp Smith for median curb work and roadway widening.

    In addition, the right mauka-bound lane of the Kahuapaani Overpass will be closed from 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday for bridge work.

    Puuloa Road improvements project continues

  • Both shoulder lanes along Puuloa Road from Kamehameha Highway to Salt Lake Boulevard will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday for utility work.

    Lanes may also be closed at the intersection of Puuloa Road and Salt Lake Boulevard from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday for utility line installation.

    Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and to allow for extra time or to take an alternate route.

    Resurfacing work along Kamehameha Highway

  • Lanes will be closed through Friday along Kamehameha Highway between Waiahole Valley Road and Crouching Lion Inn for resurfacing work. One lane of traffic in either direction will be closed and contra-flowed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Work to resurface the eight-mile stretch of highway is expected to run until June.

    Lane closures along Farrington Highway

  • A lane will be closed westbound near the intersection of Farrington Highway and Old Fort Weaver Road through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for erosion control work. Motorists should anticipate delays, allow for extra travel time and use caution while driving through the work area.

  • Shoulder lanes may be closed in both directions along Farrington Highway between Waianae Intermediate and Kaena Point through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for sign installation.

    Lane closures along Fort Weaver Road

  • Lanes may be closed along Fort Weaver Road in the vicinity of Geiger Road through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for pavement striping. Motorists should anticipate delays, allow for extra travel time and use caution while driving through the work.

    Ala Moana Boulevard lane closures, Piikoi Street to Atkinson Drive

  • Lanes will be closed in both directions along Ala Moana Boulevard between Piikoi Street and Atkinson Drive through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for traffic signal work.

    Lane closures along Pali Highway

  • Lanes will be closed along Pali Highway Kailua-bound between Waokanaka Street and the Pali Tunnels through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for pavement repairs, weather permitting.
