Business briefs: Hawaiian Air adds West Coast flights

Hawaiian Airlines today announced a major expansion of its Hawai'i to West Coast service.The state's largest airline said it will add 21 transpacific flights a week starting in September, increasing the number of weekly West Coast flights to 116.
Hawaiian also said it is recalling 22 furloughed pilots and will hire 100 new flight attendants to staff the expansion.
Hoku Scientific earns $1.3 million in fiscal year
Hoku Scientific Inc., a Kapolei-based developer and manufacturer of fuel cell membranes, reported net income of $1.3 million in the fiscal year ending March 31, compared with a net loss of $728,000 for the previous fiscal year.
Revenue for the 2006 fiscal year totaled $5.5 million, up from $2.9 million in the previous fiscal year.
Net income for the quarter ending March 31 was $508,000, down from $1.4 million the same quarter a year earlier. Revenue for the quarter ending March 31 was $1.3 million, down from $2.8 million for the same period a year earlier.
