Police Beat: Suspect arrested for assaulting officer

A 26-year-old man was arrested in Hau'ula last night on suspicion of assaulting a 49-year-old police officer.

Officers were sent to a home about 7:45 p.m. in response to a domestic argument call.

When they got there, the man was being detained by other family members.

One of the officers was attempting to assist the family members when the man broke free and punched the officer who was not seriously injured, police said.

Man arrested on suspicion of robbery

A 27-year-old man was arrested in Wahiawa yesterday on suspicion of second-degree robbery.

A 34-year-old man told police the younger man approached him, threw a punch and took an undisclosed amount of money.

Police located and arrested the suspect about 3 p.m.

Man suspected of robbing ex-girlfriend

Police arrested a 21-year-old man in Waikiki who allegedly victimized his ex-girlfriend twice in recent weeks.

Police said the former girlfriend told police she returned home about 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday to find the former boyfriend in her home. She said he grabbed her purse and ran away.

At about 1 p.m. yesterday, a uniformed police officer saw the former boyfriend walking along a sidewalk in Waikiki and detained him.

The former girlfriend was called to the scene and identified the man, who was then arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary, second-degree theft and first-degree trespassing.

Stepfather accused of repeated sexual assaults of girl, 15

Police arrested a 33-year-old Kane'ohe man about 12:40 p.m. yesterday after a 15-year-old girl reported being sexually assaulted by her stepfather over a four-year period.

The girl told police the man assaulted her under the guise of teaching her about sex.
