Two motorcyclists critically injured

Advertiser Staff

Two motorcyclists were injured in separate accidents shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday, and both were taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition.

A man who appeared to be in his 30s was injured on westbound H-1 near Old Wai'alae Road, authorities said.

Police said the man fell off his motorcycle, and the bike continued down the highway.

To facilitate the police investigation, all westbound lanes from 'Ainakoa Avenue to Old Wai'alae Road were closed, police said.

EMS spokesman Bryan Cheplic said the man was not wearing a helmet.

The second motorcyclist, a 25-year-old man, was injured on the Pali Highway, near the H-1 onramp, Cheplic said, and was also taken to Queen's in critical condition.
