LIHU'E, Kaua'i—A mother who saved one child from a rip current Saturday at Anahola Bay, but succumbed while trying to save her second son, died this morning at Wilcox Hospital.

The 32-year-old Gunnison, Colo., woman was identified as Jennifer White. White lost consciousness and was pulled from the water by a bystander after she had brought her 8-year-old son to shore.

A water and shoreline search was to continue at Anahola this afternoon for her missing 9-year-old son.

Her husband, the son and a younger daughter were at the hospital.

Meanwhile, classmates of John Dacuycuy, the 17-year-old who disappeared off Kawailoa, were gathering at the shoreline as fire department dive crews searched the waters between Nukoli'i and the Wailua Golf Course. Dacuycuy was pulled out to sea while swimming with friends Saturday.
