Pasha doubles fuel surcharge to 18.5%

Lynda Arakawa

Pasha Hawaii Transport Lines, a shipping company specializing in vehicles, will increase its fuel surcharge for its Hawai'i service from 9.2 percent to 18.5 percent beginning May 29, the company said today.

Pasha said the fuel surcharge was necessary because of the "dramatic rise in bunker fuel prices over the past year and the effect it has had on (the company's) operating costs." It is Pasha's first increase since launching its roll-on/roll-off service in March last year.
