Commencement schedule begins Friday for UH system

Thousands of students throughout the University of Hawai'i system will participate in commencement exercises beginning Friday.

UH-Manoa will award 1,374 undergraduate degrees and 962 master's or other post-baccalaureate degrees in its main commencement ceremonies to be held Sunday. This year marks the 95th graduating class at the UH flagship campus.

James Horton, professor of American studies and history at George Washington University and visiting professor of American studies at UH-Manoa, will deliver the commencement address at the Manoa ceremonies.

UH Center-Maui, 5:30 p.m., Baldwin High School auditorium; 54 candidates.

Honolulu Community College, 5:30 p.m., Waikiki Shell; 515 candidates.

Kapi'olani Community College, 6 p.m., Great Lawn; 725 candidates.

Leeward Community College, 5 p.m., Tuthill Courtyard; 573 candidates.

Kaua'i Community College, 6:15 p.m., Performing Arts Center; 150 candidates.

UH-Manoa College of Education Commencement Convocation, 6:30 p.m., Campus Center Ballroom, 408 candidates.

Hawai'i Community College, 7 p.m., Edith Kanaka'ole Tennis Stadium, Hilo; 410 candidates.

SATURDAY

UH-Hilo, 9 a.m., Edith Kanaka'ole Tennis Stadium; 467 candidates.
