"June Jones Show" changing channels

Advertiser Staff

KGMB9 has been awarded the rights to produce and televise a weekly show featuring University of Hawai'i football coach June Jones, UH athletic director Herman Frazier announced Thursday.

The shows will air Sundays at 10:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 3, with KGMB sports director Liz Chun and sports reporter Steve Uyehara serving as hosts.

The shows will be replayed Mondays at 6:30 p.m.

Jones' show aired on KHON last year, when Emmis Communications owned both KGMB and KHON. Before the sale of KHON was finalized, Rick Blangiardi, who was general manager of both stations, resigned at KHON to work full time at KGMB.

Blangiardi, a former UH football player and coach, helped develop what is now KFVE, the station that owns the television rights to UH sports.
