Advertiser Staff

Immigration attorney Amanda Chang-Kwak and residential real estate executive C. Scott Bradley will join the Hawai'i Community Development Authority board on July 1.

The two new directors of the state agency overseeing development in Kaka'ako have 4-year terms, and will replace James Kometani and Gary Kondo, whose four-year terms expire June 30.

Chang-Kwak, a former teacher and real estate broker, was appointed by Gov. Linda Lingle and confirmed by the state Senate. Bradley, co-managing director of Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties, was selected by Lingle from four candidates presented by the City Council, and also confirmed by the Senate.

HONSADOR BUYS ALOHA LUMBER

O'ahu-based building materials supplier Honsador Holding LLC has acquired one of Kaua'i's largest building materials distributors, Aloha Lumber Co. of Kapa'a.

Honsador CEO Carl Liliequist said the company plans to maintain existing operations and sales staff of 25-year-old Aloha Lumber, which has four locations on Kaua'i.

The acquisition, for an undisclosed price, is projected to push revenues this year to $200 million for Honsador, which has operations on O'ahu, the Big Island and Maui through Honsador Lumber, Ariel Truss and Honolulu Wood Treating. The company also has a purchasing facility in Oregon.

Honsador, established in 1935, was bought in 2004 by Cleveland-based private investment firm Key Principal Partners for an estimated $50 million.
