Kamehameha wins state girls water polo title

Mahinamele Reyes scored two goals as Kamehameha beat Kahuku, 5-3, in the final of the Local Motion/HHSAA Girls Water Polo State Championships Saturday at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.It was the first state title for the top-seeded Warriors, the Interscholastic League of Honolulu champion.
Kamehameha (11-1) scored two power-play goals in the fourth period to hold off Kahuku, the No. 2 seed.
Tournament MVP Liz Hanohano-Hong, Hanalei Crowell and Nanea Fujiyama added goals for Kamehameaha.
Noe Wicker, Meme Moody and Gina Ahue scored for Kahuku (15-1), the O'ahu Interscholastic Association champion.
