USC beats UH in NCAA water polo semifinals

Top-seed Southern California outscored No. 4 Hawai'i 4-1 in the third period en route to a 9-7 victory in the semifinals of the NCAA Women's Water Polo Championships Saturday at Davis, Calif.

USC meets No. 3 UCLA in the championship game on Sunday. The Bruins beat No. 2 Stanford, 8-5, in the other semifinal. UH plays Stanford for third place.

The Trojans and Rainbow Wahine were tied at 4 after the second period.

Anna Sieprath, Kelly Mason and Kristy Bagnall each had two goals for the Rainbow Wahine (18-11).
