Board approves water rate increase

A typical O'ahu single-family household will pay $3.23 more each month for water, under new rates approved today by the Honolulu Board of Water Supply.The rate increate takes effect Oct. 1.
After that, water rates will increase 12 percent on July 1, 2007; 10 percent on July 1, 2008; 8 percent on July 1, 2009; and 5 percent on July 1, 2010.
