Police Beat: Teen accused of assault

A 13-year-old boy was arrested yesterday after he allegedly punched another 13-year-old boy, causing him to lose consciousness for a brief period.

Police said the incident occurred on a bus about 5:35 p.m. where Panana and Hame streets intersect in Makakilo.

The boy accused of throwing the punch was charged with third-degree assault.

Forged check reported

A 25-year-old Waimalu man was arrested yesterday evening after he allegedly tried to cash a forged check at a Bank of Hawai'i branch inside the Mililani Safeway store. Police arrested the man on suspicion of second-degree forgery about 6:40 p.m.

Store employee accused of theft

A 39-year-old Kane'ohe man was arrested yesterday at a retail store in Windward Mall after store security workers reported seeing the man, who is a store employee, take more than $300 from a cash register.

Police were called and arrested the man on suspicion of second-degree theft.
