Police Beat: 'Ukulele attack investigated

A 32-year-old Honolulu man was arrested early this morning after he allegedly hit his wife in the head with a small cooking pot and a 'ukulele during an argument, police said.

The husband had already left by the time police were called to the couple's home a little past midnight.

He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault and four unrelated contempt of court warrants after returning home about 2 a.m., police said.

Man reports sexual assault

A 42-year-old man was arrested at his Waikiki hotel room yesterday after a 22-year-old man reported being sexually assaulted.

The younger man told police he met the other man at a bar and accompanied him back to his hotel room, where he allegedly was assaulted at about 4:25 a.m., police said.

Police were called and arrested the older man on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault.

Police arrest husband in reported assault

A 35-year-old Hawai'i Kai man was arrested yesterday afternoon after his wife, also, 35, told police he attempted to sexually assault her.

The wife told police she had been arguing with her husband when he held her down and tried to assault her about 5 p.m.

Officers were called to the couple's home and arrested the husband on suspicion of attempt first-degree sexual assault, police said.
