KUALOA — A 36-year-old man lost his left foot and a portion of his right forearm in an industrial accident this morning at Kualoa Ranch.

City Emergency Medical Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic said the man was run over by a construction vehicle shortly before 10:30 a.m. EMS personnel from Ka'a'awa controlled the bleeding.

According to David Morgan, whose family owns Kualoa Ranch, the man, Aaron Farley, and another man were fixing a cattle gate when an unmanned backhoe started to move and ran over Farley.

Morgan said Farley had been driving the backhoe, but got out to work with the other man on the gate.

Farley was taken by helicopter to The Queen's Medical Center from Kualoa Beach Park.
