Bright and sunny today

Advertiser Staff

Tradewinds will ease tonight and Monday, as a strong pressure system far north of the state weakens, but a small craft advisory has been issued through this afternoon for all waters except the Windward side of the Big Island.

A band of showers will persist over Windward portions of Maui, O'ahu and portions of the Big Island, but the rest of the state should experience dry weather with light southeast winds developing mid-week, according to the National Weather Service.

Typical tradewind weather should return to the islands by next Sunday.

The advisory was issued because of rough surf on east facing shores. A south swell near three feet will build today and peak on Monday, the weather service said.
