A 3:26 a.m. fire that destroyed a home at 2331 Pauoa Road yesterday displaced 13 people and a dog, according to the Honolulu Fire Department.

None of the individuals nor the dog were injured in the blaze.

The single-story home had been divided into three rental units, with eight people and two visitors inside the first unit, and three others residing in the remaining two units, said fire Capt. Terry Seelig.

Seelig said seven fire companies and 34 firefighters had the blaze under control by 3:38 a.m. He said the damage is estimated at $250,000 and the Red Cross is assisting those displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, he said.
