'Hot Hawaiian Nights' kicks off Friday

The group Koauka will launch "Hot Hawaiian Nights," the popular televised summer music series, at 7 p.m. Friday. The performance will be shot at the Mai Tai Bar at Ala Moana Center and beamed live on K5 The Home Team (Channel 5).
Billy V, Lina Girl and Pipi, morning-drive personalities on KCCN-FM 100, will host the hour-long series, which continues through Aug. 18.
Those planning to be in the audience should line up by 6 p.m., since weekend crowds are expected.
The confirmed shows to date:
June 2: Maunalua, at Mai Tai Bar.
June 6: Aaron Sala, at Mai Tai Bar (pre-recorded June 1 because of Miss Hawai'i competition; airing at 6:30 p.m.).
June 16: B.E.T., at Dave and Buster's Sunset Bar.
June 23: Raiatea Helm, at Honolulu Hale (part of Taste of Honolulu).
July 14: Kapena, at the Hawai'i Prince.
