Police Beat: Woman arrested in alleged ukulele attack

A 23-year-old Kalihi woman was arrested yesterday after she allegedly beat a 14-year-old girl with an ukulele at a playground on the campus of Central Intermediate School.

Police said a school security guard saw what happened and detained the woman until police arrived to arrest her on suspicion of second-degree assault.

The girl sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment at the scene, police said.

They did not say if the woman and girl were related or what triggered the incident.

Man arrested in switchblade incident

A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening yesterday after he allegedly pulled a switchblade knife on a Waikiki bar employee.

Police said the worker, 36, had gone to the bar parking lot to ask a disorderly customer to leave the premises when the incident occurred.

Patrol officers arrived as the suspect was attempting to drive away and arrested him without incident.

Teen arrested after girls report inappropriate touching

Police arrested a 15-year-old boy yesterday for allegedly groping two girls Friday night at the Pearlridge Shopping Center.

The girls, ages 14 and 15, told police the met the boy for the first time when he touched them inappropriately between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Police located the boy yesterday and arrested him on suspicion of two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault.

Man arrested knife-threat incident

Police arrested a 43-year-old man in Waipahu yesterday after he allegedly pulled a knife and threatened to stab two men, ages 18 and 20.

Police were told the two younger men were arguing with the suspect when the incident occurred.

Police were called and arrested the older man.
