What's open and closed

Here's what's open and closed for Monday's observance of the Memorial Day holiday:

  • Federal, state and county offices: Closed.

  • Mail: All post offices closed; no regular residential or business delivery or pickup; no pickup from (blue) collection boxes; Express Mail delivered (Honolulu addresses only).

  • Libraries: Most closed Saturday through Monday. Some libraries will have special hours. Information: www.librarieshawaii.org, or your local library.

  • TheBus: Operating on a Sunday schedule. Information: 848-5555.

  • Handi-Vans: Operating.

  • On-street parking: Free, except for metered stalls on Kalakaua Avenue along Kapi'olani Park; holiday tow-away-zone parking as permitted by sign; meters in municipal lots must be fed.

  • Traffic: No coning.

  • Parks, recreation centers, municipal golf courses, botanical gardens and Honolulu Zoo: Open.

  • Trash: Regular rubbish pickup.

  • Landfills/refuse transfer stations: Open.

  • People's Open Markets: Closed.
