Bacardi USA, Hawai'i Polo Inn to face off

Bacardi USA will face Hawai'i Polo Inn on Sunday at the Mokuleia Polo Fields as part of the Memorial Day Spectacular.

Gates open at 11 a.m., with the match scheduled for 2 p.m.

At halftime of the match, jumpers from Skydive Hawai'i will jump from 8,000 feet. After the match, Ghost will perform in the polo grounds' clubhouse.

On June 18, the club will have its Father's Day Lunch and Barbecue.

BOATING CLASSES OFFERED

The Honolulu Sail and Power Squadron will conduct a three-session course on boating safety starting June 3.

The course is designed for skippers and would-be skippers and is open to all ages.

Classes are at the Waikiki Yacht Club on Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon. There is a $40 charge for the manual. For more information, call 395-5080.

RODEO ON BIG ISLAND

The Hawai'i Saddle Club will hold its 50th Annual Memorial Day Rodeo on Sunday and Monday at noon at the Ho-noka'a Arena.

The rodeo is dedicated to the founders of the Hawai'i Saddle Club and according to official Audrey Maxwell, several of the surviving founders will ride in the rodeo's grand entrance. Slack rope elimination will be held tomorrow.

Events will include traditional rodeo events such as bull riding, plus Hawai'i's own Poo-Wai-U.

Admission is $7 each day, with children under 12 admitted free.

MAUI CAMPS SET

The Maui Sports Academy will be offering a basketball and soccer camp this summer.

The basketball camp will be June 27 through 30 at Baldwin High School. Grades 1 through 4 will be from 9 a.m. to noon, and grades 5 through 8 will be from 1 to 4 p.m.

Early registration fee is $80 per camper, with a $5 discount for siblings. Late registration, after June 15, is $85.

The soccer camp will be July 18 to 21 at St. Anthony High School. The camp is open to boys and girls from grades 1 through 8 and will run from 1 to 4 p.m.
