Man arrested after fuel truck stolen

Advertiser Staff

Police today arrested a 46-year-old Wai'anae man for questioning about the theft of a fuel truck at Campbell Industrial Park.

An employee of Hawaii Logistic Services allegedly saw the man drive off in the truck and followed him to an unnamed location before calling police at 12:20 a.m. today. Responding officers found the man pumping diesel fuel from the truck into an industrial petroleum trank.

Police said 129 gallons of diesel fuel, which sells for $3.58 a gallon, had been pumped into the tank.

Charges of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and second-degree theft are pending.
