The May 28, 1913, Advertiser reported on Queen Lili'uokalani's return after a two-week trip to the island of Hawai'i.

1857: William Little Lee, chief justice of Hawai'i, dies of consumption. He was 36.

1952: Bishop Estate announces that it will build 1,000 homes in and adjacent to the Wai'alae-Kahala area, where 98 homes had been completed the previous fall.

1974: The Waikiki Biltmore Hotel is demolished.
