Expect a hot, sunny day

By David Waite

Stock up on sunscreen and head for the beach since the balmy weather should last through the rest of the work week, according to the National Weather Service.

There's not much more than a hint of rain on the horizon until Saturday morning.

Until then, the forecast calls for mostly sunny days coupled with clear nights.

Things will heat up a bit as summer approaches, with daytime highs in the mid-80s or higher expected. But not to worry since trade winds in the 10 to 15 mph range should hang around all week.

The daily weather predictions:

  • Today, mostly sunny. Highs 81 to 87. East winds 10 to 15 mph.

  • Tonight, mostly clear. Lows 65 to 72. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph.

  • Tomorrow, mostly sunny. Highs 81 to 87. East winds 10 to 15 mph.

  • Tomorrow night, mostly clear. Lows 65 to 70. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph.

  • Thursday, mostly sunny. Highs 79 to 85. South winds 10 to 15 mph.

  • Thursday night, mostly clear. Lows 67 to 72. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph.

  • Friday, mostly sunny. Highs 79 to 85. East winds 10 to 15 mph.

  • Friday night, mostly clear. Isolated light showers in the evening. Lows 69 to 74. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
