Eastbound traffic on H-1 now flowing after accident

Advertiser Staff

H-1 Freeway traffic between the Makakilo and Campbell Industrial Park off-ramps is moving eastbound, but only one lane is open westbound after a fatal accident this afternoon.

Police said a car and truck heading west collided at about 12:50 p.m. The car overturned and landed in or near the eastbound lanes.

EMS spokesman Bryan Chelpic said a 42-year-old man who was a passenger was thrown from the car and was later pronounced dead at St. Francis Medical Center West. The 26-year-old woman driver of the car was in The Queen's Medical Center in serious condition. The 54-year-old truck driver was listed in serious but stable condition at Queen's.

Traffic vehicular homicide investigators are still at the scene.
