Police Beat: Brother arrested in punching incident

A 16-year-old Hawai'i Kai girl told police her 19-year-old brother punched her in the face three or four times about 2 p.m. Monday as she sat in the driver's seat of her mother's car in front of the family's home on Kumukahi Place.The girl filed a complaint yesterday and police arrested her brother on suspicion of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and abuse of a family or household member.
McDonald's workers report burglary
Employees of a McDonald's restaurant in Aina Haina reported a burglary late Monday night or early yesterday morning.
An employee found the restaurant safe open and and undisclosed amount cash missing about 5:10 a.m. yesterday.
Expired car tags prompt arrest
A 37-year-old man was arrested early yesterday morning after he was found driving a car that had been reported stolen.
A patrol officer saw a man driving a gray Mustang with an expired safety inspection sticker on Monsarrat Avenue near Paki Avenue about 12:30 a.m. and checked its license plates. After learning the car had been reported stolen, the officer ordered the driver to pull over and arrested him for suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.
Dispute over air compressor leads to arrest
Police yesterday arrested a 38-year-old man who is suspected of using force to take an air compressor from a 48-year-old man.
Police said the older man is homeless and lives in a van along the Wai'anae Coast. He told police the younger man confronted him at one of his campsites about 10 a.m. May 7 and demanded the compressor he had seen in the van.
He said that when he refused to comply, the younger man punched him in the chest and took the compressor.
Police located the younger man yesterday and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree robbery.
