Advertiser Staff

Hawai'i ranks as the sixth-worst state in a listing of business climates for small businesses and entreprenuers.

The Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council's Small Business Survival Index looks at public policies such as taxes, regulation and other government-related costs or imposed measures affecting small businesses.

South Dakota was rated as having the best environment. It rated New Jersey as the worst and cited Hawai'i as being among a group of states having "the most anti-entrepreneur policy environments."
